This residence is a two-in-one apartment located on Level 42 at Persiaran Stonor, just a stone’s throw from KLCC, the iconic landmark of Kuala Lumpur. The 3,000-square-foot apartment comprises a living room, dry and wet kitchens, three bedrooms, one study, and a lounge, forming a quiet framework for the atmosphere within. A moody, cinematic retreat wrapped in a dim, atmospheric glow, where deep shadows, muted tones, and sculptural light define the space. Dark ebony ash-veneered panels and soft taupe planes set the tone for a refined canvas, while warm, low illumination converges to create intimate pockets of calm. The overall atmosphere is refined, mysterious, and carries a subtle noir sensibility. From the arrival lobby just beyond the elevator, where draped lighting installations serve as a welcoming focal point, to the vestibule inside the apartment, which features a backlit crystallized quartzite granite wall arranged in deliberate asymmetry, the home is punctuated by carefully curated theatrical gestures. Softly illuminated sliding timber screens with geometric patterns introduce quiet moments of spectacle, enhancing the cinematic, noir-inspired ambience throughout. Materiality is expressed through texture and finishes—sumptuous velvet, natural stone in structured and matte finishes, and brushed metal—creating quiet tension and tactile richness, while accents in Chardonnay brushed gold punctuate the interiors with subtle drama. Each surface and finish is carefully considered, reinforcing the refined and cinematic quality of the space. Curved elements flow through the space—from the sinuous TV wall and concave fluted paneling to the gentle curves of the furniture and light fittings—echoing organic contours. These soft forms ease the boxy layout, shaping a cozy, fluid atmosphere. The home settles into a quiet drama, where each space and detail quietly reveals its presence, leaving an impression that is subtle, refined, and cinematic in essence.
